Lumpen 17 submission deadline coming up!

16 February 2026

Hear ye, hear ye! The deadline for submissions to Lumpen 17, our issue on WORK, is fast approaching!

You have until this Saturday, February 21st to submit a piece on the theme of WORK.

Well done to everyone who has already sent in something. We have received a diverse range of pieces to choose from. However, we will make space for something that we think is interesting or hasn’t been covered in other submissions. Examples: sex work in comparison with other jobs that are less stigmatised or how civilians minimise the amount of effort involved in some types of sex work, any other experiences of criminalised or informal work, the AI bubble as an excuse to worsen working conditions, how the idea of what a “working class” job is hasn’t changed much in The Left’s imaginary, etc.

A couple of reminders:

  • No off-topic submissions, please. We won’t select something we don’t feel fits the theme.
  • No poetry.
  • If you are already a well published author, academic or have your own Wikipedia page, perhaps Lumpen isn’t for you.

Please share this with anyone you think might be interested!

We will be back with more updates when the issue is ready to be published.

In solidarity,

The Class Work Project.
